The engine arrived in sections rather than as a finished set, because a complete 1000 kW skid would not pass the site access. It was lifted in through the roof opening, assembled and aligned on the floor, then loaded for duty.
The Weichai-powered 800 kW set stands outdoors at the mine, on a steel skid set on open gravel ground. Radiator and exhaust were matched to the altitude and the dusty intake air at the site.
Three identical sets so one can be out for service while the other two carry the site. Open type with flexible exhaust routing, since the sets sit inside an unfinished structure and the exhaust had to be run up through the roof.
A sand yard moves with the dredging face, so the set had to be towable and quiet enough to work next to. Trailer chassis with road lights, silent canopy, and the fuel tank slung under the frame to keep it low and stable.
Installed in a landscaped garden next to the building, so the specification was acoustic first and access second: silent canopy, low exhaust outlet, and enough clearance to open the doors for service without digging up the lawn.
Two identical sets on a shared room, laid out for parallel operation so either unit can be withdrawn for service while the other carries the hospital. Radiators and exhausts are separated to keep the room temperature workable.
An indoor machine room finished in epoxy-coated floor and a switchgear line-up alongside, which is what a hospital standby room usually ends up looking like. The set sits on vibration mounts and the exhaust runs overhead.
A steel canopy was erected over the set so it could sit inside the working area instead of at the perimeter. Louvered doors on the canopy keep the intake air clean on a dusty site while keeping the set out of the rain.
High voltage at this rating means the switchgear, protection and cable sizing are the deciding part of the project, not the engine. Two sets give the site a genuine standby option rather than a single point of failure.
The set sits on a raised concrete plinth in a dedicated room, with the exhaust taken straight up through the roof and the fuel day tank kept outside the room. That layout is what keeps a large plant standby set serviceable.
Two sets that can run together on a shared bus. The point is peak shaving: one machine carries the base load and the second comes in when demand rises, which is cheaper than holding one oversized set all day.
Destination decides the specification as much as the load does. Ambient temperature, altitude, grid quality and the conformity scheme at the port all change what we build and what we prepare.
